Diabetes Educator

Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre in coordination with the Northern Diabetes Aboriginal Health Network is launching a new incentive program called "Discovering Diabetes".

The new program focus is to promote independence and self-management with intent to help people learn to "Live Well with Diabetes".  Lunch and learn sessions are available.  Presentations can be geared to a certain age group or sector such as Gestional Diabetes, Exercise and Diabetes, Lab and medication review, and highlighting wellness strategies.  Our goal is early prevention for the best outcome by working together.

Nutritional guidance is available, as well as referrals to foot care, CNIB eye van and other medical services available in our area that can be arranged post session.  If you feel your agency would benefit from a teaching session or if you know of anyone with ongoing issues that may have inquiries related to Diabetes, please contact Lori Gladu, RN at the Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Centre in Fort Frances at (807) 274-3131 or by e-mail to lgladu@gizhac.com
